Dennis Kessler, the President and founder of Midwest Family Business Advisors, serves on the board of directors for five family-owned businesses and draws from his personal experience as the former Co-President of Fel-Pro, Inc., a business that was in his family for 80 years. Dennis is well versed in the issues facing family businesses: Fel-Pro had 35 members of the family as stockholders and actively employed nine family members in the business. He helped ensure smooth transitions between generations and was an integral part of an exceptional culture at Fel-Pro, which was recognized with a fourth-place ranking on Fortune magazine’s list of best companies to work for.

Dennis has a Master’s Degree in Engineering Administration from Washington University in St. Louis. He has lectured on family business issues at some of the most prestigious universities in the country, including Wharton, the University of Chicago, Northwestern, and Washington University, as well as the Loyola Family Business Center and the Young Presidents Organization.
